When I released the beta version of my updated SimpleGens, the majority of feedback was that people preferred the old testicles.

I could have just tried to attach the old testicles to the newer model, but there were some alterations I wanted to try and keep - better mesh resolution, improved weights/bending, and altered UV mapping. I decided to try and re-work the testicles to get more of the descended, "hanging" look while keeping more of those internal improvements.

A couple of notes:
1) The "reworked" version would probably NOT replace the beta version. I'm strongly considering making both available, the way that the original RealGens used to have AB and C testicle styles available.
2) I haven't made any alterations to the texture yet. I'm happy to try doing this and seeing how it turns out, but those wrinkles/folds were never my fave part of the SimpleGens. Maybe because I was never entirely satisfied with them lol.
3) I tried to match the shape in the "hang" of the testicles; the older looks longer because the entire groin has been lifted up to try to look more realistic. The "spread" of the testicles looks different in the reworked version, because the individual testes in the SimpleGens scrotum are a bit far apart to my eye.

So I'm looking for feedback on this, if anyone wants to offer any. I've attached a file containing the new design in case it's easier to look in-game than at the picture above.

If you test in-game, be aware: it's (currently) only available as a soft medium version, and is only accessible in CAS (not the WW Body Selector).

I'm looking for any feedback, but most importantly:
1) Does the reworked shape satisfy your desire for the older style of testicles?
2) Do you prefer a texture closer to the existing SimpleGens texture?
3) Are there other elements of the existing SimpleGens that I haven't included that you miss or prefer?

For CAS thumbnails, would you consider changing to a more vanilla style? Especially to blend in with the new body details CAS category, which has more zoomed in views on various body parts already.

Sure! I've never been a huge fan of really different custom thumbnails anyway, because I prefer for my game to look more Maxis match. The only issue I worried about before was the view being so far zoomed out that nobody would be able to tell what penis they were clicking. But since they've started adding so many different zooms/angles in CAS for other sections, I could probably do closer up thumbs in a style closer to the game's.

Awesome! I made thumbnail overrides myself for your stuff; if it helps, I found it helpful to use the CAS clock speed cheat. Set CAS speed to something very slow, change a trait on your sim, and then set clockspeed to 0 to freeze the animation in the desired pose. Use a white CAS background and delete the background before importing the thumbnail to ensure that it truly matches the others the vanilla thumbnails. I found I also had to use an OS screenshot (at least in MacOS) to match the skin tone, since the built-in “C” key didn’t truly capture the CAS lighting for some reason.

I've tested this beta in-game. I really like the way this version hangs and the wrinkle pattern over the last one. Keep in mind though that testicles wrinkle when the temperature is too low. That's not usually when sex happens, but a little wrinkle pattern is still more life-like. I would prefer if you kept some of the hanging wrinkles from the current SimpleGens that are close to the penis shaft. Again, IMO they look a little more life-like. Really good work though, either way!

I like both style of testicles. It really depends on how I want to make my character in the end, so I think both versions work really well.

Oops, sorry - I thought I'd already replied to this! I do know about that cheat and use it, but thank you for offering the tip :) The annoying thing about this method - probably any method - is making sure my sim is in the same pose and at the same angle each time I need to make new thumbnails (used to happen a lot with making unique designs). I've been able to make it work so far, but it could still be a simpler process. Maybe I'll find a way...
