This is the spot. It cracked while I coughed. 4 little fast popping noises then instant Sharp pain. Feel like stabbed. It hurts to twist my body, open a door, even lift my left hand. I’m shuffling my feet as I walk. It’s not black and blue. And it doesn’t appear swollen. It’s not red, and if that area looks red, it’s cuz I just had frozen food bag on it. Any thoughts? Can muscles “pop”??? Or is it definitely bone related? I’m so fat I can’t even get an X-RAY too much fat??? Fuck my life omg so much pain . What’s the chances of cracking rib from coughing? Maybe when you’re 350 pounds idk. I thought that stuff only happened from car crashes

You can have an X-ray. Most rib X-rays are standing anyway

My husband is almost exactly your height and weight and when he had a coughing spell that lasted him over a month his ribs would kill him. He severely pulled a muscle on his side when he got a particularly bad coughing fit that just wouldn't stop. He said it felt like a bunch of sharp hot needles stabbing him in that one spot. It never changed color or swelled, but it made it to where he couldn't take a deep breath for a week.

Ya I can understand that. Can you call an Uber?

My ribs don’t crack but if I don’t stretch regularly, it feels like fascia around my ribs feel like they’ve snapped when I do twisting stretches. So painful 😖

Well on the plus side theres no bruising or discoloration. So that's good. Just be sure not to move around alot. Keep a close eye and watch for discoloration. But please go get checked out by your primary doctor or at the hospital Just to be safe. :)

Nick, there’s nothing they can do regardless if it’s a cracked rib or pulled muscle. Take an anti inflammatory like ibuprofen and let it heal on its own. Again, my suggestion is to do the R.I.C.E. method and champ it out unless you’re coughing blood and struggling to breathe. A doctor telling you what’s causing the pain and to take it easy isn’t going to make it heal any faster. It’ll just cost $ and time.

My mom had an overlapped rib before and she was heavier than you and they told her she just had to let it work itself out unfortunately. She had all the same symptoms you do. Do ice on the area for 20min off 20 min then heat for 20min then off 20min. Do that repeatedly to help with any inflammation. And if one makes it worse then only do the other. You’ll be in my prayers ❤️
