The Pope just expressed support to gay people.

I must say, It's been a very triggering week for me.

For the last 5 days, you guys have noticed how upset I've been.

I have been really upset about the documentaries I watched about Gay people around the world. It's is a crime in over 70 countries RIGHT NOW in 2020 -- and not just a few extremist groups, mind you.... We're talking about ONE THIRD of the entire world's population!!!! And TENS OF THOUSANDS are slaughtered each year by their governments, communities, and even their own families for "honor killings" (Shaira Law in Islam). Yes, in 2020, LGBT people have their heads chopped off, they have their body chopped into pieces, they are hung by the neck, they are tied up and thrown off building rooftops, they are buried in the ground & stoned in the face until they stop breathing, they are whipped, stabbed, drowned, or shot in the heart... As I type this, a gay person was just murdered LEGALLY somewhere in the world... because it's a crime to be gay.

So yes, Today, the Pope just gave his support for same-sex relationships, and there is so much backlash in the news. People are fighting on Twitter. People are fighting on Facebook. People are fighting on Instagram. All of the comment sections on YouTube are flooded with hatred and meanness. It's VERY triggering... because all of this fighting is over people like me... me.... me, and how I was born. How God "made me" and if it's "okay" that I was born this way.

I am gay. That is who I am. I wish I could be straight. I wish I could change what I like. Life would be so much easier for me if I was straight.

But I can't change it. And to see that I'm UNWANTED by so many people, to see that I am UNWANTED on so many ends of the earth, it just feels incredibly terrible. I have not don't anything wrong. I haven't committed any crimes. But, my "crime" is expressing love to another man. That's the crime.

Imagine being in my shoes. Let's pretend you are gay today...

Imagine knowing the fact that in 1/3rd of the entire world, you aren't allowed to exist and you are LEGALLY killed by your government (Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Emirates, Nigeria... places like that). And then in the other 2/3rds of the world, you're surrounded by thousands of people saying that you're not allowed to exist in their communities.

You're not allowed to be Baptist. You're not allowed to be Mormon. You're not allowed to be Orthodox. You're not allowed to be Methodist. You're not allowed to be Muslim. And in many Islamic countries, they'll slice off your head with a sword if they find out. And it's not just in religion. In many irreligious communities, you're still not welcome. And in the countries where it's "legal," the majority of them still do NOT protect you.

They don't protect you from hate speech, they don't protect you from discrimination, they don't protect you from housing discrimination, bank discrimination, loans or mortgage discrimination. You can be legally fired from your Job for being gay. You're not allowed to adopt children. You're not allowed to donate blood. You're not allowed to serve in the military. You're not allowed to visit your lover at the hospital. You're not allowed various public services. You're not allowed to have a Tax benefit for your relationship. You... you are simply seen as a very bad thing to exist....

So, how do you feel?

Hey Nick, i just wanted to say, as a trans gay man, seeing this shit really hurts me. I’m so fucking lucky to live in the US specifically CA where I don’t have to worry about people hurting me or my bf. I wish there was more we could do to help the lgbt+ community around the world. But chin up my guy, if the Pope supports LGBT+ then there’s that glimmer of hope right there that could help us out in the long run. We got this bro 😊🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

The world is a very scary place to be in. It is good to be aware of what is happening in the world to our communities, and to communities that we are not a part of. As a pan sexual it hurts me to the core that there are people in our community that aren’t safe. I live in New York so I do consider myself lucky to live somewhere where being different is celebrated. All we can do is spread awareness and fight for our brothers and sisters who cannot use their voice. In a world so divided, we need to come together and fight for basic human rights.

The world is such an unkind place sometimes. I have never understood people who consider being gay or transgender as a choice. Why would someone choose that when it's so hard? It makes zero sense that people think that way. I loathe religion for this very reason--it stands as a justification for horrible, horrible things. Again, it makes no sense to me. Please take care of yourself, Nick. Out of this time of darkness I hope something really beautiful emerges, and you find your way. You are loved. You are supported.

I added a trigger warning for the new photos I just added (should be 9 pics in total). They aren't bloody or graphic or anything, but they're certainly disturbing. People simply do not know what's happening right now.

Nik you have such a huge platform and are informing a lot about people like me who had no idea about it, I’m from a very small southern town. I support all people. Thank you for using your platform to spread awareness something needs to change.

You are not alone. Please stay strong and know that there are so many that support the LGBT community. 🌈 Love is not a sin. Love is Love ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

I've known this has been going on since I was in high school years ago. It's a disturbing reality, in these same places women also get stoned to death, hung, killed by society. I know the fear you probably felt while reading these things, the agony, the pain of being lynched for your identity and because other looked down upon what you are, not caring for who you are. It's a dark reality which inhibits most of the world today. Even in the US people are killed by those who do not understand them, agreed it's not as open as the middle east - but look back 60 years ago. Gay men where openly killed and disposed, lynched alongside black men women and children. At least the USA evolved and is open to evolution. Its terrifying. But remember that evolution of society only happens with Change. The best response you can give to these disgusting presecutions is living your life with no apologies given, to the fullest. A living "Fuck you" to those who want to hurt what you are, and hope to those who are oppressed by the system. I wonder how many of the countries voice highlighted above stopped using iPhones because Apple's CEO is a gay man. Or stopped importing Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana and all these luxurious goods which are owned by gay men? Not a single one. The world is changing, and these countries and the government within them will have to evolve to keep up with the rest of the world. Hope leads to change leads evolution. So, live proudly, boldly, and truly in respect for those who cannot. ♥️

It’s sad that we live in a world where you just can’t love who you want because love is the greatest emotion 🌈

It’s so sad, my heart goes out to all who have and are still suffering. We live in such a cruel world, so awful people can’t love who their heart loves, or have to hide who they truly are inside. YOU are WANTED and LOVED by so many. I knew this was the topic of your anxiety and sorrow, and I’m so sorry. Lots of love to you and Orlin, you both make such a cute couple! 💕💕🥰🥰

Ugh. So much sadness and hate in the world. I was in a heterosexual marriage for 12 years and when I came out as gay my spouse completed suicide. I’m 42 years old and pansexual. Very thankful I live in Portland OR but still in so many parts of even the UD

.. the US it’s really scary to come out! Take care sweet Nik 😘

Thank you for sharing. I'm so sickened by this that these people had to die for no reason. The media never talks about world issues like this. The western world is living in a bubble while people suffer so much whether it's being gay, trafficked for sex or slavery. It's still happening and no media ever talks about it

just subbed to you on patreon because of your yt video discussing the persecution LGBTQ go through, keep it up, we need more voices 💜💜🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

I have to say I just saw the post for the pope and it made my heart smile but I’m still hurt with the fact that people have to fight over it everyone deserves love with a man or woman cis gendered or not I love you nick. And I’m hoping that this world changes even if it is slowly

Anonymous

this is scary to even me, as a bisexual woman. some of these places i’ve wanted to travel to and now i certainly don’t feel like i would be safe. so sad but i hope and pray that these people reform one day and stop practicing these things.

My feelings on this is it pisses me off that people get panties in a twist over love. Love is one of the best things on this earth. When it is found that is beautiful because it can make life better and more complete. Every person on this earth deserves love. In my opinion, love is love no matter who it is found with. This world is can be so cruel and evil because of what one person considers a difference. That is something I don't like about this world. Nick, you were created to love who you love. Please don't ever wish that could change. I'm disgusted that people endure such hatred because of who they were born to love. Love is better than hate. I love who you are Nick. Never change and keep being you. All one can do in this world is be true to the person you are. Love you Nick!

Being gay, a woman and an immigrant. I am happy you spoke about this on your YT channel. This is one of the reason I had to leave my home country too. To escape and be safe to be who I am...

I'm straight as an arrow and female and yet cannot imagine hurting anyone in general but even judging someone based on their personal sexuality. It is insane that much of the world still believes in fairytales and violence for no reason. This is why moral equivalency fallacies about people understanding each other are bogus. When people's moral compasses are so backwards you cannot bring them into a free world or get them to understand the morals of a free world. It starts at childhood. I hope this will change but it will take a revolution in these places . It is so so sad. And there are still even here, with all our access to education, people who think like this in the US.

It sucks Nik ): Imagine being gay and trans like me

My bff since I was 7 who is a lesbian said to me "did you think I made this choice to live my life like this? This is who I am and it's the hardest life to live.". I love her, sexuality does not define you as a human, no cares that I like men it should be the same for every one. I love you two boys.
