what are some lore details i need to know? and do you have any ideas for a "storyline" for his gaining?

From everything that happens to him, he's a bit broody. I only really know him from Kingdom Hearts, and he's a bit different in FF versus KH. But he'd definitely be a bit surprised to be gaining weight.

I have a scenario. In the game, you use little spheres of magic called material to cast spells and boost abilities. He could accidentally equip “fattening materia” and starts gaining weight. The lord and backstory for cloud is a loooot. He went through a lot and is now moody and a bit grumpy.

A few interesting ideas here already! As for what to wear, Cloud has several outfits. From his starter purple gear with a red waistband, to his soldier uniform, a basic grunt outfit, to a more dark and edgy look, there's his Advent Children outfit, and if you wanted to have fun with cross dressing, Cloud has a dress in a minor, yet pivotal part of FF7. So there's plenty of options for clothing! Hope this helps, even a little.
