Halfway through inking this week, I decided I wanted to go back to trying to finish these pages chronologically so I could post them asap but it’s taking FOREVER. Lucky’s powers really complicate my usual lighting technique lmao

Unrelated ramble: I love working in the vertical format for Lucky!, I feel like I’ve really found my flow with it this year. BUT THERE ARE DAYS (like today) where I really miss the old traditional comic format. Mostly because I see other creators making their stories via Patreon and they have a more streamlined process, like… 1-3 pages a week after certain Patreon goals are met, and while nothing is stopping me from doing that with Lucky! Patreon updates now, I do tend to prioritize my comms and adopts until the last 2 weeks of the month (because thumbnails on vertical STILL kick my ASS) but I miss the old fashioned “1 page update a week” from before Webtoon times lmao

‘All of that is to say… I have plans for more comic related stuff during the hiatus. I’ll still be working on Lucky’s buffer, but I’m going to try to aim for higher Patreon goals so I can unlock certain side comic projects that I can work on through Patreon. Stories that I’ve been sitting on for years because I always thought Lucky! was the only story people would be interested in me making comics for. Not anything that’ll detract from my main webcomic, of course. My ultimate goal has always been to be full-time comics, but now I’m realizing… I have some KILLER one shots I’d love to make. Y’all remember when I used to do one-shots? “You’re Favorite Color” and “Reveal”? Those were trad pages that I reformatted for Webtoon. I wanna do that again. For lucky side-characters/sideplot. For mine (and some of my friends) Star Wars ocs. FOR DND HIGHLIGHTS FROM GAMES I GET TO PLAY IN. For… 18+ snippets wink wink

The end of the year is usually when I start considering Patreon upgrades, so I think, roughly speaking: My goal for 2022 is to-

1. Work on Lucky! Season two buffer during the hiatus

2. Do a one shot. Or two. (Depending on which, come up with rough character concepts for you guys to see behind the scenes)

3. Take requests occasionally for mini-comics with certain themes.

I just love making comics and seeing my stories and characters come to life. I keep applying and putting my work out there, but I don’t wanna wait around for other companies to finally decide I can work for them. I’ll just do what I love because everyone here seems to love that as is. Thank you guys.

You tell him Lucky!!! That last panel with Lucky in his most powerful and terrifying form is pure gold! I'd love to read some one shots, and get more background on a few of your odd and lovely characters! And I hope your kid is well! Take care & be safe.
