(Been a while since I posted a poem on here so here I go!)

Evergreen trees keep me sane

In winter months when seasonal depression calls my name

The deciduous descendents stand grey

And they all look the same

Skeletal forests are beautiful in their own way

But there's something about trees never losing their color

That makes me want to be that way

Through days of gloom & never-ending doom

They stand tall & are a model for us all

To be colorful despite the season

Despite the rhyme

Despite the reason

Despite the times when I feel down on my luck

I want to be an evergreen tree when I grow up
