It took me so long to sit and listen to this podcast, I was definitely not in a positivity mindset for a few weeks. I almost started sobbing when you told the story about Finn saying "You're my home."

Also, in terms of being ready to evacuate/leave at any moment - I remember when I found out my husband didn't have a passport, I was totally shocked. I couldn't imagine not having a passport. A friend pointed out to me that being Jewish, especially having grandparents who survived the holocaust, puts you in the mindset of always being ready to leave. Always having your papers in order. I have folders with important papers in easily accessible locations. While pictures/sentimental things are so important, I feel like passports, ID, paystubs, health insurance cards, etc are the immediate things I think of when thinking about a go bag. I know this was slightly different than you probably meant, but it really made me think about feeling safe where you live. I certainly don't always feel safe, and there are definitely several minorities that probably feel the same. And when you feel like that, you are prepared to leave should a situation occur.
