I'm watching the show now but haven't read the book. Its wild they changed so many details tho~

Mia's character was completely warped. Her book character was quiet, compassionate and I feel like she was less rude. Her show persona was so unlikable compared to who she actually was. I really didn't mind the race part, I thought it was clever, but the show played out like a 13 year old's angsty fanfiction.

OH YES. i fully forgot to mention that they made her come off as an "angry woman" so much! but in the book she wasn't like that at all! so frustrating. they also tried to paint her as a sex addict & the whole "smoking weed to make art" thing was done in a way that was supposed to make her look bad AND they made her relationship with her mentor in new york romantic & kind of predatory? so strange...
