2021 Summary of art (and retrospective) (Patreon)

Another one comes to an end huh? I swear it was just yesterday I showing off my favorite works of the past 12 months and sharing my thoughts on the year gone by.
If 2020 was the year of exponential growth, 2021 was when I took that growth and capitalized it fully.
For the uninitiated, 2021 was the year I put university on hold, started a business and began doing art full time: a personal goal I've had since graduating high school and one that I thought was still many years away from being even remotely achievable. Nonetheless, here we are, going into my second year as a small business owner. Add to that my move from my shitty old university town to a big city close to my friends and family AND buying my own apartment. Yeah. It's been a wild year. World situation aside, the best of my adult life by a longshot.
While I don't think my art has particularly improved since last year, my motivation to draw certainly has. I've improved my efficiency by tackling multiple projects at the same time, ensuring I always have something to work on. I've adapted a mostly-consistent workflow, one which I will continue to apply and improve in 2022. I've mostly avoided getting burnt out despite the debatably insane work hours thanks to a healthy work-private-life balance on off-days. Things are looking good and I'm genuinely optimistic what next year has to bring in terms of this venture!
I'd like to close off this sappy retrospective by thanking every single one of you that have supported me this past year, be it via sharing my work on socials, pledging here on Patreon or commissioning me! Your collective generosity is the reason I could kickstart my career as a full-time artist way ahead of schedule and I'll never forgive it. Thank you, truly 💜
...Sorry if I'm rambling. Can you tell it's 8am when I'm writing this and I haven't slept at all? Hahaa. Anyway, I have a train to catch so I can get on with celebrating New Year's with my family. Hope you have a great New Year as well, and see you in 2022!
