✧ december sketchdump pt.2 ✧ poses and what comes naturally (Patreon)

I know we're currently in the thick of the holiday season, so I hope you're managing whatever chaos you may find yourself in. xD  perhaps this sketchdump can be a little reprieve amidst the events~ 

I've been in a strong sketching mood lately and it's been nice to get in some practice drawing poses and sticking to a handful of brushes. I've been using the angle of the apple pencil a lot more to add textured, rough lines to give life and motion to sketches. this technique feeds into my larger goal of leaning into drawing in the way that feels most natural to me. a lot of my experimentation with style has led me down paths filled with clean, angular lines. but when I allow myself to draw in the way that is comfortable, what ends up on the paper are soft, flowing curves that are messy and I find that this is the most expressive way for me to draw. I'm no longer interested in forcing my drawing to be something it's not and instead want to keep finding ways to emphasize my inclinations. I'd like to keep working on cultivating that mindset in the new year! cheers to 2024! ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝
