Hello patrons!

Welcome back to another round of favorites! In the U.S., we're finally transitioning into fall (one of my favorite seasons!) and with that comes changes~ I've been slightly introducing new things into my routine to get me in the mood for the coming holidays. So without further ado, let's get into the favs!

Food: Apple cider, snickerdoodles, and potato chips

I'll admit, it's not the healthiest, but I've eaten and tried a good amount of chips in the past month. Sprouts, a health-food minded grocery chain, carries brands I've never seen before and when there's a sale I take it upon myself to pick them up. Always be pushing your boundaries and trying new things, right? The apple cider and cookies I picked up yesterday and are meant to get me into the fall mood. I now know that shortbread, a much less sugary cookie, goes better with apple cider but gosh darnit snickerdoodles are delicious and if that means a sugar overload then so be it!

Music: The 1975 and jazz LPs from the 50s and 60s

Lotsa dates goin' on this month, but I'll explain. I only recently started listening to The 1975, but I'm already hooked. I've only listened to songs off their newest album, I Like it When You Sleep, for You are so Beautiful yet so Unaware of It, a nastily long title but it's filled with amaaaazing tracks. Some of my favorites are Loving Someone and If I Believe You. Give them a listen, they are truly moving!

I've been in the need for instrumental music this month since work has been so busy. I was stressed to the point where music with vocals was too overwhelming for me (this has never happened before so I was a little freaked but I respected the feeling). I turned to a long time favorite, jazz, but specifically from the 1950s and 60s, cocktail music if you will. Classy, calming, and slightly mind-numbing, perfect for getting me through long work days. A couple favorites I've found just this month include Cal Tjader and Carmen Cavallaro. Trust me, it's good stuff. If you need to get through a long task or want to relax, pop these albums on and you'll be good to go.

Well that's it for this month's favorites, hope you found something new to try. Let me know what your favorites for this month were, I'd love to see what you've enjoyed! Until next time~

Much love,

-Vicki

Thank you so much for the music recs. I've seriously been hankering for something new and the 1975 is absolutely perfect. I totally understand having even vocal music be a little too stressful, that's usually when I turn to video game background music. Namely, that it's supposed to motivate you without being too distracting. ^_^;
