☆ JULY POSTCARD + STICKER ☆// Summer daze~ (Patreon)

How's your week going so far? I hope you've been well! ^^<3 So I'm super excited to share this month's rewards with you because I wanted to push myself in new directions with these pieces. >:3 

When I think of summer, I see two distinct color palettes in my mind. One is vibrant and bright, cerulean blue skies and colorful swimsuits. The other is faded and soft, white linens and light greens drenched in sun. I wanted to explore both of these moods this month and translate that summer excitement and dreaminess. 

For the postcard, I started on the latter and thought of what a soft summer morning feels like. I immediately think of sunlight streaming through the windows, warmth, and life. Those moments always feel like a small act of magic, a world of your own. I wanted a bit of looseness in the lines to add to the soft look. I'm trying to push myself to work with colors I tend to avoid and I'm glad I did because it was so much fun! Blues and greens really do an excellent job at bringing calm and freshness to a piece, I truly can't get enough!

And a process gif! I originally started with very saturated and strong colors, but felt like the piece was better suited for pastels~

For the sticker, I went with the bright and colorful palette that really embodies warm tones of summer. I also wanted to try a new composition and make a square sticker. :D It was such a joy playing around with new colors and I'm quite happy with the result. ^^ Something about lemon yellow just makes me feel summer-y and active and when paired with shades of blue? I feel like I'm ready to go on an adventure! 

Here's the process gif! My approach to this piece is so different from what I normally do. I had a lot of fun mixing both lined and lineless techniques to create something that's a wonderful blend of the two. :D
