I felt a bit sentimental when working on this postcard since it's the last one of the year and I always like to reflect when the year is closing out. Like many others I feel comforted by nostalgia and one of my fondest childhood memories was watching movies on vhs tapes. There's something about the warm, fuzzy double-image that sometimes shows up on those tapes that make me feel oddly reminiscent. It's certainly an effect and mood that can't be fully replicated by modern technology in all its sharpness and perfection. This piece was inspired by that visual glow and the bittersweet feeling it incites.
