SEPTEMBER CALENDAR // Fall is here! (Patreon)

Happy Autumn, hope you're having a lovely Monday so far~ Every time I complete another calendar piece it reminds me that we're getting closer and closer to the end of 2017 which is such a wild thought! It's that time of year when the holidays are in clear sight and the atmosphere feels a little more festive and fun. I've been fully immersing myself in the season as well and have decorated my space with an adorable sugar pie pumpkin and fall-scented candles. I also plan on baking pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting this week so I'm really looking forward to that. *u*

In celebration of Autumn I wanted to embrace the complete aesthetic and feature a little bit of everything. I mainly used warm colors that remind me of Fall such as red, orange, yellow, and brown. I chose a coffee shop as the setting because coffee and warm drinks always put me in a cozy mood and isn't that what the colder months are all about? :) Last but not least I drew the characters in some fun fall fashions that I think help add to the coziness. ^^

I don't particularly consider backgrounds or city-scapes my forte, but much to my surprise I actually enjoyed drawing the buildings! I like that it was an additional opportunity to add personality and charm to the piece. Taking the time to draw in small details such as windowpanes or signs helps ground the scene in reality and was quite relaxing.
