I'm making my first zine! ♡ (Patreon)

Hope you've been well and thanks so much for stopping by today~ ^-^ I'm very excited to share that I'm (finally) taking steps toward making my Mermay zine! Even though it's months later I'm glad I'm starting on it now. I feel like my personal style has been evolving in a way that more closely matches how I see my ideal self and I truly believe that's only been benefiting my work. I've been making deliberate efforts to discover and understand my personal taste (Pinterest has helped a lot! I love their organization system) and I want that to come through in my first zine.

The overall tone of my Mermay series was very light and sweet so I wanted to keep that in mind when designing the front and back covers and everything else in between. Above is the front cover I've come up with (you can never have enough sunflowers!) and I think it's a good representation of the series. I also couldn't resist using my favorite colors (pink and red) in the theme and I think it goes well with the flowers. ^^

This is the illustration I did for the first page of the zine. I gave her lots of cool jewelry to make her stand out. :D

This is the back cover of the zine! I might end up tweaking it, not sure at the moment. 

Overall I'm really jazzed about this opportunity! It's so cool knowing that I can put whatever I want within these pages and really take the chance to make what I'd like to see in the world. Ultimately, I want this zine to be a positive and enjoyable experience and I hope that looking through it will put even the tiniest of smiles on your face. <3 

I'll have this available in my store come October, which by the way I am literally so excited for. Do you have anything you're looking forward to right now or in the coming months? Personally I'll be attending a Gorillaz concert in October and I am very much looking forward to it.
