WARM TONES // a lot of new art ♡ (Patreon)

Welcome back, I hope you had a good day~If you had a stressful week hopefully some art can bring you a moment of respite! I've got a good bit of art to share with you in this post. I've been taking my style in a new direction recently (warmer tones, richer colors) and I've been very happy with its evolution. It feels more welcoming and worn-in than it used to and using these techniques makes me enjoy my work more, which is a tiny accomplishment in and of itself. :)
Above: A lil Sailor Moon! I love the uniforms from that series and felt particularly struck by the flow of the skirts. Thought I could explore the movement a bit more and see what I could come up with!
This piece is actually several months old. I didn't post it when I first finished it because it felt lacking. The colors were stark and against a white background they stood out too brightly. It lacked warmth and friendliness. I'm glad I decided to revisit and revamp this piece because I think it finally has the look it deserves. <3
So Overwatch recently released an animated short for their character Mei and I havn't stopped thinking about it since. I love getting to learn more about the heroes and their backstories and while Mei's was anything but a struggle it was great learning more about her personality and habits. I'd never particularly warmed up to her in-game (she's tough to play against), but seeing her laughing with friends and continually make the best out of tough situations makes it easy to like her. Truly well done on Blizzard's part.
Plus she looks super cute in her different outfits and when she's all sleepy, I had to draw her! <3
Mei and Snowball, a team unlike any other.
Mei and Snowball, friends 'til the end!
I hope you liked these pieces and thank you so much for your support! I bought packing supplies for the enamel pins today so the pins will be available in my shop soon (within a week)! I'm excited and nervous all at once but truly look forward to sharing the pins with everyone. Wishing you a great weekend and much love, stay awesome!
