hello patrons! \(^惮^)/

I'm back with another monthly speedpaints vid. continuing the tradition started in last month's vid, I've added music that I listened to while working on these drawings. I think it brings out a whole new dimension of the art, because it better captures how I felt while making it and how the final pieces came about as a result.

this is the rough sketch I did in my sketchbook before I started building things out in Procreate. I try to keep the drawing simple and small at this stage to keep a clear idea of the overall feeling of the piece. if I come up with ideas in the process for additional details, I write down notes instead of adding to the sketch to avoid bogging it down with incomprehensible noise. my goal with this part is to keep things readable.

and this is the rough sketch I drew for the sticker, also done in my sketchbook. another reason I like doing the beginning stages in my sketchbook is because traditional medium comes with built-in limitations. there are only so many times you can layer pen on paper before it becomes a big mess and you have to start over fresh. whereas when I draw digitally, I can sometimes get lost in the minutiae, which distracts me from the foundational question of 'how does this drawing feel overall?'.

thanks for reading and have a good day!
