This week's tutorial is about character silhouette!

For me the silhouette is probably the most important aspect of the character design, even more so in pixel art.

Working with pixel art most of the times means that we are working in low resolution and since we can't add too many details or even too many colors the silhouette must tell the story.

When I draw a character I always start by making their silhouette, it doesn't need to be very polished, it's just a sketch of the general shape, then I ask myself "What story I am telling with this character? What I want the player to feel when looking at this character?".

Silhouettes can also be deceiving,  you can make a silhouette that looks safe, but the details show that the character is dangerous. That's all right, but you probably will want if you have a purpose for it.

As always, thanks everyone for the huge support so far, it's been 3 months of tutorials already! It's been very fun and I've learned a lot by making them! And I think I finally got a good setup for streaming, and I'll be streaming regularly at Thursdays nights (GMT -3), I'll make a formal announcement later too.

What do you use to draw the pics, and also what do you use to making animations?
