This tutorial is very similar to another tutorial of mine, the Top Down Run Cycle but walking, as you can see has some differences. Also I tried to use this to share some more tips on the subject and how I usually work when making this type of animation.

Don't forget that the walk cycle is a very important animation and is where you can add a lot of personality to the character, like making it bouncy, or stepping hard on the ground. Secondary animations like the ears following up or hair can also add a lot to the character.

On another note, this is the first tutorial I make with another font in a long time! I wanted to make a small but readable font for future tutorials and I'll release it as freeware when it's ready. I'm still working on it, so there are some inconsistencies here an there on this tutorial.

I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on the "physics" part of the animation. Something like momentum or the "overshoot" frame you elaborate on a lot.

I talk a little about it on some previous tutorials (specially the one on easings) but I always try to simulate as much physics as I can. On such small resolutions sometimes it's better to overdo the physics to express the movement more clearly.

Super! Thanks, love the tutorials BTW. So tempted to become a $10 patron to understand how you use aseprite on more advanced level.
