One of the best live action anime adaptions. It’s up there with Rurouni Kenshin live action franchise. Also the actor who plays Zoro is played by Mackenyu who is an actual martial artist and popular actor in Japan and is also the son of famous actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba, who you may also remember as the guy who gives Uma Thurman the sword in Kill Bill vol 1

Was planning on checking this out at some point but you guys got me to watch and it's... pretty damn good. :) I like "mature themed" anime only like Berserk, Cowboy Bepop and Ghost in the Shell etc... so I wasn't interested in watching a "light-hearted" (to put it politely,... jk anime fans :D ) anime with 1000+ episodes but this was really well done. Still has the bombastic and over-the-top elements of an anime like this just a slight bit tempered down to fit a live action setting. They hit the right balance I think in that regard, which is where most live action anime adaptation fail. Can't be too "anime" but also can't be too "grounded" either.

if you think its only a light hearted anime, then you missing out. Its a reason why is 1000+ eps its not all sunshine here stakes get serious and the world building is top notch!

Just noticed this comment and yeah I was only kidding a bit about this being "light-hearted" but I think you know what I meant. It's very fantastical and over-the-top is all I meant to say and that's hard to adapt to live action. After watching more of the show it's even better than I thought and I'm sure the anime is wonderful of course. Nothing would've sustained it's popularity for that long if it wasn't high quality. 😉👍
