Yea I got Sauron vibes from the giant too. But I think I remember in the beginning of the first episode Galadriel said that nothing starts off as evil. So I’m thinking right now he is good but he has access to all this power. He seems to only use it when he gets scared though I don’t know how that applies to the fire flies. But I think he’ll get corrupted sooner or later. Or he’s already corrupted but is still boggled and confused from his fall? Right now he is kind of endearing but gives an uneasy feeling. Like I don’t trust him but at the same time I want to because he seems so lost and confused mentally. But yea I definitely gives off Sauron vibes. But Sauron with dementia….
