So it's almost the end of December and, by extension, the Holiday Season. That's all, nothing more.

Not really, but thought that was funny. Anyway, hope y'all had a great holiday, whether that's celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, or just staying at home with a cup of hot chocolate. Hope the Excessive Chums chapter helped anyone struggling this time of year.

Speaking of struggling - perfectly natural segway for the win - I went and saw Rise of Skywalker yesterday... I don't know how I feel about it sometimes. I tried watching reviews to try and get my thoughts together, but all of them leave me just as confused about it. Like, I'm glad I saw it, but it's not good? It felt like a thrown together mess, yet it has gorgeous moments and great choreography - the fights, most of them, are amazing - but...

Where Last Jedi ostracised some by going a new direction than expected, this film backtracks on a lot of great ideas from the first two movies. Yeah, J.J. coming back was not the fix people thought it'd be. 'Let the past die... kill it if you have to', the perfect concept going forward. We get whole new adventures, characters and motivations. But nope. Bring back more original trilogy people, and some prequel too. Then it...

Honestly, it disappointed and exhausted me. Every time there was something interesting, it didn't follow through and took an easier route in my opinion. This is one of the first movies I've sighed and facepalmed at. But it's fun at best and mind-numbing at worst.

So, I stand by The Last Jedi as the best sequel movie - Mandalorian is the best sequel to the original trilogy right now though - which just needed another rewrite. This film needed several rewrites and edits. Chances are you've already decided to see it if you haven't, but those are my thoughts.

Thanks for reading and tolerating my tangent. Things should be on track next month, with maybe a surprise or two if I have my way.
