Weekly Update - 10 June (Patreon)

While working on the short Anna Drinks a Lot of Milk animated visual novel, I’ve also been doing a lot of world building this week with my characters, with a particular focus on Sophia and Anna. I’ll tell you some of what you can expect in upcoming stories/comics/animations/visual novels about them.

Like most of my characters, Sophia and Anna are friends. Sophia is adventurous, curious, kinda grumpy, and has trouble keeping her appetite in check; whereas Anna is a bit older, very stoic, calm, gentle, and dedicated to her work as a nurse and combat medic. She sometimes acts as a mentor figure for the younger and more reckless Sophia.

When I originally designed Anna, I themed her off a mosquito, and her strange monster pregnancy required her to drink blood. I’ve found this way too limiting for storytelling, so I’ve expanded the list to include most unprocessed foods. Her pregnancy requires her to eat meats, fruits, vegetables, milk, and even sometimes blood. Let's just say she definitely tends to order her steaks rare.

I will also be updating Anna's flight suit to make it more geared towards being a combat medic, since she works as a nurse. Over her red leotard, her flight suit is going to have something of a steel “mecha bikini” appearance that keeps her harnessed to her flying rig. I've been very inspired by Bubblegum Crisis and Gunpla girls in this regard.
