Its great seeing Gilad Pellaeon a character introduced in Heir to the Empire as Thrawns right hand man appearing in all the Thrawn Novels and even the video game Tie Fighter. In terms of appearance the casting is perfect it looks like they pulled Pellaeon right out the Extended Universe. Pellaeon was mentioned at the very end of Rebels when Thrawn asked "Gst me Captain Pellaeon." Pellaeon over comms "Sir, they came out of hyperspace! I've never seen…" this being right before the Space Whales attacked Thrawns fleet this being the last time we've seen him, before the Ahsoka Trailer. Pellaeons appearance here pretty much confirms that he survived.

As someone who has felt very mixed about this season overall (I've enjoyed moments here and there, and I really enjoyed episodes two and five), this episode in particular I thought was fantastic. I'm right there with you guys where I wish this had been more of what the season was about in terms of meaningful story progression and character development. Hopefully, a potential season four course-corrects a bit since the stakes have been significantly raised through this episode (and the finale most likely). If the season finale can stick the landing, which I think it will, then I will give this season a pass even though at this point, I believe that it stands as the weakest of the three we've gotten so far by a large margin.

Dave Filoni co wrote this episode and it shows, it was so good! Yeah agree on the Grogu stuff clearly he wasn’t supposed to come back, and had to had Grogu in the story last minute

I would take any “reports” of any bad creative decisions being “Kathleen Kennedy’s” fault with a considerable grain of salt, especially if they aren’t coming from more established outlets like THR or Variety. There’s an entire industry of “fan” accounts that want to villainize her. She has a boss (Bob Iger), and Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni wield considerable power. BOBF was still credited to Favreau and Robert Rodriguez, every episode of Mando is credited to either Favs or Filoni. I don’t think they should have brought Grogu back for this season, but I struggle to see how anyone could reasonably pin all the blame on one person, much less her specifically. The Mandoverse seems very much in the hands of Favs and Filoni (With Rick Famuyiwa getting more role) Now, KENOBI? That very much seems like a project she specifically backed, when it was something I thought was completely unneeded, poorly executed, and very forced. It was done to cram Vader and Obiwon on screen together for the hell of it, even if there wasn’t a great creative reason to do it. As for this episode, I think your comments at the end say it all. This episode put in so much work to pay off bits from earlier the season, and elements dating back to season 1. It basically spilled the outline for the entire Mandoverse going forward, injecting a Rebelized Heir to the Empire as a bridge to the sequels. As such, this script and production got enormous attention- attention that was sorely missing from every prior episode. Those scripts felt rushed.

It's cute af until you remember Mando considered IG11 his friend and now Grogu is operating essentially his friends corpse 🤣

Mando s3 episode 7 is... Good, its not Great. It hasn't saved the Season... it's to little to late in my opinion. I really am disappointed by this season. Gonna say something controversial, bringing Grogu back(especially this early) ruined the show. If Grogu wasn't in this season, what would change? Maybe we could get some Character development for Din... you know the main character who hasn't learned anything this season. You can complain about the side missions in the other seasons but every side mission had a lesson to teach Din, s2 episode 2 showed another parent doing everything to save there children. He learns from every "pointless" mission. Bo is fine, I've never really liked her character, especially because she goes from terrorist to saver way to fast but that's not this shows fault

... oh the episode! Um this episode is weird, why show Pas being an asshole towards the night owl Mandalorians and then have him make a heroic sacrifice, you are making me dislike him before I'm meant to really care about this characters death. Why did they show the Armorer going to the ships? I was expecting her to see a star destroyer blowing up the fleet or something but nah everything was fine... the action is cool af but needs more wide shots and less cuts as it seems a bit messy at times. Omg we have a villain again, put Gin Carlo in everything!!! I need more quotes. HE HAS SOMETHING I WANT!!!

I still feel this season has been rather pointless. I can't quite put my finger on what it is but I can think back on S1 and S2 and many episodes seemed to add something, be it character progression, lore, stakes, but this season it's like on autopilot. I have liked some things, like the sight of the Mythosaur, but overall, it has been pretty weak. Nonetheless I have found it better than Obi-wan or BOBF. Hope the finale is good

Jen. I’m disappointed that you didn’t recognise Skinny Pete from Breaking Bad. Lol

I think this is one of those seasons that will make more sense once all the filoniverse stuff is out. (Not saying thats good...or bad but just the feeling I have)
