The slowness is getting you invested in the world and the story and the characters. This series is nicely fleshed out.

Question for you and Jen, do you think you would continue watching this show where its at right now if you didnt know the praise everyone gives it?

Personally I don't feel it's slow. The dialogue and acting is so good, that it keeps me constantly engaged and an episode flies by. There is so much told and shown in this episode and it doesn't feel like exposition once.

I think we would continue. I mention at some point that they've been able to keep dialogue heavy episodes entertaining and engaging which is REALLY hard to do. Regardless of the "slowness," it's still very apparent that all of these events are accumulating to SOMETHING. Whether we'll like it or feel paid off in the end is still up in the air, but I think it's entertaining and engaging enough that we would. Slow doesn't necessarily equal bad, it's just an observation right now. Slow but good. The worst thing a show can be is slow AND bad.

Eps 1-3, zero TIE fighters, x-wings, Star destroyers, stormtroopers, Jedi, mandos, cute babies. Ep 4, one dopey TIE flies by a grassy rally and it comes off like death incarnate. I think the deliberate choice to withhold so many classic Star Wars “markers” and using them so judiciously is brilliant ; at the same time, I am sure that this jarred the audience when the show aired.

This is the show that made me care for the Rebellion. I think it is very well written. Every line is there for a reason. Things I liked: - Seeing the change in Luthen between gallery owner and rebel leader - Seeing Coruscant in a different light. - Seeing the Empire as a flawed organization without making it look down right incompetent.

When did Mandos and Cute babies become Classic Star Wars Markers though? I could then say Cassian is one because he is in Andor. Luthen is one yk. \

I personally think that this show works BECAUSE of its slow pacing. It doesn't follow the traditional Star Wars "theme" of almost constant action, but instead takes its time to set up a narrative, characters and the overall world. Then when there finally is some action, it hits you that much more effectively since the show does a great job of getting you really invested in its setup. The payoff that this show provides is so worth it in my opinion, and that's why I believe that this is one of the best things to come out of Star Wars in recent times.

So I hadn’t caught it either, but Clem was his adopted father’s name. And I would think I would’ve noticed, as no joke, that’s my Grandfather’s name!

Trying to create realistic expectations: You’ve mentioned that it’s slow but fans say it gets more action packed… it does but not ever to the point that more than 1 episode in a row is action packed. It has a cadence: slow burn, slow burn, action.
