I know the sequel is regarded as amazing in every way but I actually prefer this film to the sequal, even though I do think the sequel is a better film. The synth music, 1980s neon setting, and the thriller feel of the film are aspects I adore not to mention the amazing future war setting we see. I guess it's like Alien vs Aliens both are very different movie yet are amazing so it really depends on which style you prefer. There's a really fun Terminator video game called Terminator: Resistance low budget but it has so much heart and you tell it was made by fans. Set in the future war the music to the sound effects and setting is all inspired by the movies more so the first film. These same developers are also making a Robocop game as well which looks equally as good hopefully more so learning from past mistakes and a higher budget. Overall amazing movie that gave birth to an iconic sequel and mix bag of follow ups that some people like while others hate. I personally don't mind Terminator 3 haven't seen the others besides Terminator Salvation so can't speak on them. Actually liked Terminator Salvation but it does lack the style and tone of the classic films but it makes since for lore reasons why it looks different.

I think not only is T1 better than T2. I prefer it too. It’s a masterpiece. Arnie playing the Terminator (by that I mean not the Guardian he plays in the sequels) is absolute perfection. He absolutely nailed it and is genuinely scary.
