I think what you overlooked a bit in especially Episode 9 is that Ezra is slowly becoming better with the Force and especially the Lightsaber. That Hallway-Scene was basically impossible for him even at the beginning of this season. Only training Ezra while for a short time interesting is would not make interesting Episodes in the long run so they mostly kept out everything except the very important parts which means we don't see how much he trains, but we do get to see the results of his training and there are especially 3 Points in this Season where you see a massive jump in his skills, Episode 9 being the first. In that one mainly a jump in his Skill with a Lightsaber against Blasterfire

Episode 9 is one of my all-time favorite episodes of Rebels.

I believe what Jen is feeling is the difference between an anthology series like Clone Wars and a focused one like Rebels. Across 7 seasons of CW we did get lots of Rex, but it as broken up and interspersed with lots of stuff. Here, he’s never far from the main family/crew and he plays a significant role in Kanan coming to grips with his past meeting up with his present. These episodes went into surprising depth in ship lore. The B-Wing debuted in ROTJ in the heavy assault role it’s given here, and was always designed by Mon Cala, which explains its unusual profile. Prior to Rebels, I don’t recall it being in use in this pre ANH era, but it is a mere prototype here so that fits. The production model obviously lacks the big unified laser thing. The Interdictor Cruiser prototype in ep9 debuted in Timothy Zahn’s early 1990’s book trilogy, Heir To The Empire (A historically significant, even if decanonized book series). As described in the episode, it projects a field of gravitational force in an area which does two things: all ships in the area can’t jump to light speed; any ships traveling at light speed that hit the field will drop out. In this universe, all hyperdrives automatically cut out when a gravity well is detected as a safety precaution (from hitting a planet). As the Rebels rely on small scale hit and run operations, such a ship would wreck their plans if used correctly. In the books, the imperial remnant uses them to extremely good effect (to put it lightly).

Why does Ezra flip from always wanting to save people to in the first episode the reacted to he questions risking his life to save people... seems a bit out of character

For the last 2/3 episodes of this season, you guys might want to consider doing full episode reactions :)

I love how Rex is shown to be amazing then terrible in the ST armour. Then having the line, "I can't see anyhting", taking the helmet off, nailing someone, then blasting two shots. Also another good reason why STs can't hit anything if a Clone Caption can't

I’ve always loved Rex’s story in Rebels. I won’t say right now what ends up happening to him, but it’s really good.
