the invasion actually was a midseason finale. i watched these episodes as they originally aired many years back, and after the invasion, there was an entire year before the show came back. the wait was agonizing as an 8 year old child. i actually went over to a friends house down the street during the finale one saturday morning and watched it with a friend.

Air is not as furious as fire not as versatile as water (technically, cause it’s air use it smart and it’s basically telekinesis) and it’s not as strong earth but if you know how to use it to its fullest potential then it is definitely the most dangerous, if you know then you know

If you watch the sequel series, Korra, they eventually have a not so good guy air bending. And this guy is a little terrifying. To the point that I think air bending is the potentially most formidable bending.

Heads up that the next two episodes are a two-parter, 14 and 15 are also a two-parter. The finale (18-21) is a four-parter, so you should watch that all together.

You mentioned airbenders' ability to manipulate oxygen, and you might be on to something. If you remember the 3rd episode in book 1, Monk Gyatso's corpse is wearing relatively unscathed robes while surrounded by fire nation soldiers. There's a popular theory that he vacuumed the oxygen from the room, suffocating all of the fire nation soldiers as well as himself.
