I am so glad that you both are finally seeing some of the deeper lore on Star Wars. This is the content that alot of people say is the best of Star Wars. The Father, Brother, and Sister and how BALANCE is everything in the Star Wars Universe. Qui gon being the closest interpretation of a "gray" jedi best illustrates that balance. After you finish Clone Wars, I would highly recommend you watch REBELS. It is almost paramount to watch before the Ahsoka Series. Also you will be introduced to the Journal of the Whills! More philosophy for Holden to ponder over.

Deadpool

I personally see it like this you can’t have light without darkness and you can’t have darkness without light say in the sense you can’t see in the dark without light and with every light there is always a shadow casted behind it you need a balance of both so see clearly, something I remembered from “Friends” if you do something selfless and feel good or happy about it is it really selflessness or another form of selfishness or say with Batman is it ok to let this person like the Joker live where sooner or later they will do the same thing again or just kill them so it doesn’t happen again, so to me you can’t live without 1 or the other

Mateo Lopez-Isabello

You should probably make this one public and also tell people to go to patron to watch more. Make a poll to ask

Dawson

Could probs do the season 3 finally cause would build hype for people to watch season 4

Dawson

It's the order and Chaos theory. Too much off one will result in the other to meet

Jacob Ember

I love this arc more and more every time I watch it! I can't believe the citadel arc is next. It's a really good one in my opinion.

Dawson

I just love the community surrounding Clone Wars. Like I'm really bad for arguing about other star Wars projects but when it comes to Clone Wars the community always seem to come together to love this show and weirdly its one of the only projects that everyone agrees has faults but we love it anyway

BigTim86

Oh yeah; one of my favorite arcs. Fun facts; the original sequel trilogy episode 3 big bad was supposed to be Mortis, not Palptine. But they were worried not enough people would know about him; and had other conflicts with Colin Trevarrow’s script and demands. Also, when it comes to “time travel” in SW, your best bet is to watch Rebels next, and see Ezra Bridger go into the World between Worlds; and change canon by accident. It’s a great but messy concept; that has yet to be done in live action. I’m so glad you’ve persevered through the juvenile stuff, and the good stuff will only get better and animation insanely good by the end. (Holden; is it still a kids show now? 😉) They def evolved past that when they saw the demographic was SW fans of all ages.

Dawson

I mean it's probably the one of the only interesting concepts to come from Rebels so... I think we can allow a little hint of what happens

BigTim86

Exactly, they aren’t going to watch rebels; and certainly doubt it would be on here or YT. That show, while very enjoyable, doesn’t have the same depth and impact on current SW canon; as Clone Wars does/did. Rebels is a fun ride with a mashup of different rebel type characters (2 force sensitives), that is basically like Bad Batch. They go on very repetitive missions, but if you like it you like it. (Which I did) But knowing Holden’s perception of this kinda content, I really doubt he’d ever give it shot, let alone stick with it. Clone Wars gets way deeper and darker, while also making its animation way better, while rebels is just in the same lane for all 5 seasons or whatever it was. Really the only parts worth watching, just out of context to see is the part I mentioned, and the Quick showdown on Tatooine. All good man, if anything I just gave him a reason to look into that concept/scene/episode. Didn’t say how/why/who. Just that it did exist in SW

Jacob Ember

'Star Wars: Rebels' is a great show. I really don't understand the hate (not saying that you yourself hate it) that some people give it. In my opinion, once you get past the first season, it does start to get to the levels of depth/maturity that the Clone Wars did in its later seasons. The show is not perfect nor is it better than 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars,' but there is a reason that it has a 98% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes (although I would argue that the 83% audience score is more accurate). Regardless, 'Star Wars: Rebels' is a fun time, and I think that Holden and Jenn should at least give it a chance considering how crucial a watch I think it will be for the upcoming 'Ahsoka' show. At the end of the day, there's a lot more to like in the show than there is to dislike. I would personally be fine if they continue doing the animated shows (Rebels and Bad Batch) as Patreon exclusives after they finish Clone Wars.

Dawson

Rotton Tomatoes isn't an accurate source. If you give something a 0%-49% it gets an automatic rotten score and if you give something a 50%-100% it gets a fresh score. Rebels is more of a kids show than Clone Wars and its a great kids show but it's core theme is should you be Good or should you be Bad? Clone Wars has themes of Loss, Greif, Duty, what it means to be an individual in a world where everyone looks the same as you, How far is to Far, when does duty become blind loyalty, corruption, should you trust your leaders and so on and so on...

Jacob Ember

I know how Rotten Tomatoes works. If you want to, I implore you to go to the audience review section of Rotten Tomatoes for 'Star Wars: Rebels' and you will see just how much love the show has gotten over time since it concluded its final season. That's not to say every review is positive, but most of them seem to be. Also, while the theme of "should you be good or should you be bad" is a theme in Rebels, I think that's an oversimplification that could as well be said for all of Star Wars. However, there are plenty of other themes that exist in Rebels such as found family, loss/grief/acceptance, the virtue of patience, learning about our opposition/empathy, the importance of closure, learning to trust others/overcoming fear, the resilience of hope, etc. I could go on and on with the list of lessons/teachings/themes that Rebels has. In fact, I was going to post examples, but I don't want to post spoilers for those who haven't seen the show. If you ever find the time, I highly suggest you give the show another chance. I originally watched the show when it was on Disney XD, and I found it to be mediocre. However, last year I binged through the entire show on Disney Plus, and I found it to be incredible/very eye-opening. I don't know if it's because I became a young adult or because I binged the show, but I'm telling you, Rebels is one of the most thought-provoking pieces of Star Wars media I've ever seen (just under the Clone Wars) Teenage me never thought I would be the one to defend 'Star Wars: Rebels,' but here I am. Anyways, I am so glad I gave Rebels another chance. It truly has some remarkable storytelling in my opinion.

jxm82

I think Rebels is a far more consistent and enjoyable experience than the clone wars as a whole. Plus I just like that time period more. Watching Rebels honestly would probably be pretty helpful considering the Live action shows coming up.

Dawson

If you like it fair enough it's definitely not better than Clone Wars and if you want to watch it just find a cheat sheet cause the filler is unbelievably boring

BigTim86

Yeah, the two in their totality; clone wars is better and way more important to any SW fans knowledge of lure and characters, including Ahsoka. Now there are a lot is aspects I love about Rebels, and some episodes that are on par with some of the best CW episodes. Ezra, Kanan, old Rex (clones), Sabine (mandalorian lure), and Thrawn are all very big pieces that would make it worth their watching. But, it doesn’t get dark like CW; it’s symbolic and great writing at points, but repetitive beats that get stale too. I just think they’d be out early, as they wouldn’t likely have even done CW if it wasn’t for the constant bickering of us for hard SW fans. I even said over and over, if they do it, I’ll go Patreon. And I honored that; and it’s a great way to lure in some patrons. Win win, good business by Holden. If they go onto Rebels and keep giving us these vids, I’ll be happy with it. In the end, the only SW show that really didn’t do anything of value, imo, was Resistance. And I watched every episode of that one too. Bad Batch is fun, but has yet to be shown to have an impact on anything outside of its self contained story. I hope season 2 and Andor change that, but they missed an easy opportunity with Book of Boba to use Omega. I hope they weave it in, as they’re still going with that show, as the primary animated SW show. But we can all agree, we SW fans are kinda crazy and compulsive with our fandom; but that’s what makes us so passionate and knowledgeable. Love the convo; may the force be with you! 😉 ✌️

Dawson

At the end of the day we are all star wars fans and can agree that Battlefront 2 ended up being a great game and EA should have continued to make content for the game!!!!

jxm82

Thats all subjective and calling the filler boring his hilarious considering how bad the filler in the CW is. But to each their own.

Jacob Ember

I really wish they had continued to make content for 'Battlefront ll.' For me, it was a few characters and maps away from being the greatest Star Wars game out there; however, it was still really good nonetheless. Anyways, I always love talking to fellow Star Wars fans. Whether we agree or disagree, it's just fun to talk about Star Wars and the different opinions we have on this awesome galaxy.

Dawson

Bro imagine we got Ashoka and Ventress... Aw to dream a better dream

Jacob Ember

That would have been insane! I heard that there were files (voice lines) for Ahsoka and Padme in the data for the game. I'm not sure how far they got in creating the characters, but it's a shame that the updates stopped. I would have loved to see those two characters along with Ventress, Mace Windu, Cad Bane, The Mandalorian, etc. The game had so much more potential!

Dawson

Cad would have been so sick. Ye Grevious had some reaction voice lines recorded for them

Dawson

Tbf Clone Wars is all filler but I love everything Past seaon 1 but as you said its all independent opinions Rebels just isn't for me but I'd definitely show it to my brothers cause its an extremely great kids show

Brian Nelson
