We Christians are not meant to be Christian Police. We are to pay attention to our personal pathway to God and spread the Gospel of Peace to all those we meet on that path.

Wow, I went to a Christian private school when I was a kid. I was one of a small handful of black students. There was a lot of shady practices from both race and Christian hypocrisy. I actually had one teacher who used to tutor me, stopped talking to me when I told him that I question my faith. I think it did a number on me because I decided that I was a bad person well into being an adult. I’ll say this, a real Christian spreads the gospel by living their life and trying to be more like Christ. Instead, you have a lot of people who want to judge and condemn, not even thinking for once what’s going on in their lives. Anyways, I usually suppress talking, thinking about this topic because I never completely decided where I am in all of it. One things for sure, I have zero patience for hate and hypocrisy.

Are you secretly my best friend? Your story and his are nearly identical. Wishing you the best, my friend!

My view of Christianity is very similar to yours, Holden. I went to a private school, was in church every Sunday, and lived in a very strict/protective home. Now I don't go to church because I can't find one that fits with my personal views. I briefly dated a girl who was not Christian. We'd been friends for a while before we dated, and have gone back to being good friends. I will say I had a feeling of needing to try to convert her, but went about it my own way, just by being as good and kind of a person as I could be, not by shoving Christianity in her face. I love this girl (not romantically), and it makes me sad to think that we might not end up in the same place after death, and that's one of the things that held me back from dating her any longer than I did. If I did fall into romantic love with her, I don't think I could bear having a life-long relationship where I was uncertain of whether or not we could be together in the after-life.
