The infamous “tech who says the problem is solved when it actually isn’t” has come and gone, so hopefully you’re nearing the end of your Internet struggle saga! Thanks for the update :)

Rik Johnston

Who is your ISP? I’m stuck with Xfinity because our apartment complex has an exclusive contract with them. I would have preferred mediacom, but whatever. Hope you get it sorted soon.

As a software engineer, there is often a simple solution to these problems so let’s hope he can get it sorted out for you :)

AT&T. Exact same situation im in. My apartment complex has a contract with them, so I literally can't use anyone else.

I hope so. But I swear if one more rep asks me to unplug my modem, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in ONE more time, I'm gonna lose it. 😂😅😩😭😭😭

Hahaha the infamous turn it off and on again 😂 because you live in an apartment complex often times the carrier signals from different nearby routers get crossed (similar to having two stations on the one radio frequency). The cutting out of the signal is when the two bands overlap and they can’t send the needed signal. The solution to that is just to change what channel your wi fi is sending the signal, i.e. channel 6 to channel 5 (this varies depending on if you’re router is 4G or 5G and can be done by logging into your router from your PC. Hope this helps and isn’t too confusing 😂 If you have any issues after the tech guy is finished just send me a message, I’d be happy to help 👍🏻

A suggestion: if you are using an ISP-provided modem and/or an ISP-provided router, I would suggest buying your own equipment to replace them. The ISP-provided equipment is often poor quality, and you might even be paying a monthly fee to rent their equipment. Your ISP should have a list of approved modems that work on their network so you can buy your own, and any router should work on any ISP. However, an ISP often won't provide you support on your own equipment if you have problems, so there is a learning curve in supporting your own tech. But you've got a fan base that would be happy to help! I'd be happy to assist with modem recommendations if you need it.

That does sound frustrating. Try not to stress too much about it, we will still be here when its fixed.

Thanks for the update Holden, I too have AT&T WiFi and have to restart it 3-4 times a day so I understand the struggle.
