Woo, I'm hyped! Had no plans to watch it, but after hearing you guys were going to do a MFW I decided to sit through the 4 hours anyway. No regrets! Pretty fun movie, and wayyy better than the original.

When I watched the Whedon JL I remember enjoying it while at the same time being underwhelmed. “That could’ve been better” is what I said to myself. Snyder’s JL, as far as I’m concerned, is a far better movie than Whedon’s version. First and foremost I was happy to finally have a great live action Darkseid, especially since the Smallville version was terrible. I was happy to finally see the Green Lanterns in the DCEU (since I don’t know for sure if the previous GL movie counts in the continuity). I do have criticisms however. Color-wise I felt the movie was far too dark. I understand that was intentional but it came off as depressing and mundane to me. Strangely enough, while I felt the length of the movie, and I mean I felt every minute of that four hours, I couldn’t sit down and think of stuff that could’ve been cut. Thinking about it thoroughly almost every moment of that four hours felt needed to tell a proper story. At the end of the day I found the movie enjoyable. Also, Jared Leto’s Joker appearance did nothing for me. From what I understand this was supposed to be his redemption since Suicide Squad wasn’t great but I still felt he was lackluster. In my eyes I still feel he’s the worst Joker we’ve ever had. I’d still take Cesar Romero over Jared Leto.
