I was finally able to catch up on some sleep. Sunday travel was such a pain in my ass. My flight was delayed by 4 hours and I didn't get home till 6AM Monday. I was so wired I couldn't fall asleep until sometime in the afternoon. United Airlines always gives me such trouble when I fly with them. (they also broke my suitcase and wouldn't replace it)

Tell me some of your worst travel stories with airlines.

Ohh no sorry to hear that. They should have replaced your suitcase.

When we were leaving Miami after the cruise, we got delayed because the president flew in and we had to RUUUUUN to make the connection in Dallas. We made it to the gate as they were boarding. Almost got stuck in Dallas 😬

Worst travel story......going back to Afghanistan from leave. Plane delayed in Syracuse airport......2 hours sitting on the plane while they fix it. Land in Germany.....plane breaks again. Stuck in the airport terminal for 4 days. Flying from Germany to Kyrgyzstan, have to make an emergency stop in Turkey where we were stuck on an AF base for 3 more days. Finally fly into Kyrgyzstan, there for 2 days, record low temp drop. Have to wait for plane to be de-iced before flying back to Herat.

That’s horrible Abadon I’m so sorry to hear that :( . Though I’m happy you were able to catch up on your sleep

Oh my… I know it’s bad but what I wouldn’t give for that x-tape to magically disappear lol 😅🙃 … sorry about your suitcase!

So sorry to hear about your suitcase. I haven't flown commercial since the early 90s. I used to fly in military transport aircraft when I was in the USAF but I won't share those horror stories.

Boarded a plane for what should have been a three hour flight. Plane couldn't take off because there was an issue with the hydraulics. They kept us on the plane for SIX HOURS while they fixed the hydraulics. They wouldn't deplane us because we were already checked in. It was two hours (and lots of passenger complaints) before they would offer any drinks or snacks while we waited. Once we were finally in the air, a baby screamed for the entirety of the journey....

Man don't get me started on United...last year, I was going to Scotland for a study abroad trip with my University, and we flew United. We were scheduled to fly from Nashville to DC to Edinburgh. We had to wait over a fucking hour to get our bags checked cause there was one attendant on duty and she was taking her damn time taking care of the people in front of us. I saw a good 5 other attendants walking around and none of them thought to help her. We had to go cause we still had to get through security and then find our gate. Finally our teachers went up and talked to them about what was going on. Apparently, there was a "computer error" that had affected all of their flights and they were having "trouble" pulling up people's flight info 🙄. Finally, we told them about our issue and they took us to another airline kiosk to get checked in. We then had to run to the gate and get on our flight. Problem was, we were so delayed that we were late for our connecting flight out of Dullas. So as soon as we landed, we had to sprint from our gate to the one we needed to get to (about half a mile) before the flight took off. We just barely made it, and I was so exhausted/anxious I threw up. And they didn't let anyone in the bathroom during takeoff, so...yeah. Thankfully, the other students and the teachers were understanding. And to top it all off, they lost one of our suitcases. Luckily, the girl it belonged to got it back after a few days. But fucking hell. The rest of the trip was much better, but fuck United.

Flew from Chicago to Oslo. Everybody else in my group got their bags. Everybody. We checked in same time. My bag didn't show up until halfway through the trip! 😂

Well since this past weekend was the first time flying for me and only thing I brought was my backpack because I pack light but other than that it was good and sorry to hear about your suitcase.

I have a couple but this was the worst. Over 10 years ago, my then-gf and I were flying to DisneyWorld. It was a night flight so we could spend the whole first day at the parks. About an hour before the gates open, the flight is canceled due to mechanical issues. She's hysterical, I'm trying to get any info about another flight. The next flight wasn't until 6am. I let her sleep and I stayed awake all night keeping watch because I didn't want something happening to her.

I've been lucky with travel but also, I don't do much flying, usually train or bus. Most I had to deal with was my butt falling asleep sitting for 5+hours from NY to north Carolina. That said, it'd be poetic justice if you cornered the president of United and flogged them till they replaced your suitcase 😈💚

Daniel McCarthy

In all honesty, I’ve never had a bad flight, and I’ve had quite a few. Sucks what happened to your suitcase. Now get some sleep.

The Zombae

They should of but for whatever reason they just wouldn't. That's happened to me twice in the last 4 years

The Zombae

YOOOOOOO! The amount of times I've had to BOLT across terminals (especially in Dallas AND Ohare Chicago) I will never understand why they make the connections so damn tight

The Zombae

I have such a fear of luggage getting lost. I know they can usually find it but....I've seen A list celebrities complain about luggage being lost and getting it back a month later. Like how in the fuck do you lose luggage!

The Zombae

I'm glad you had a good experience! Most of the time it's good, but some airlines are just a joke

The Zombae

Flights getting canceled is the absolute shits. I had to quickly adjust my flight to Vegas when I was getting married because my connection was in Denver (they were having a BAD snow storm) and I was freaking out because I needed to get to Vegas haha

The Zombae

Most of my travel days are usually good, every once in a while I end up with a cranky attendant or gate attendant. I also don't mind a delayed flight if it's like an hour and I have no connection. The breaking of my luggage adn not replacing it has happened twice to me lol

The Zombae

IT's always good when travel is pleasant. Most of mine are pretty good but every once in a while these bad ones just really take a toll

Kirk Moore

It was back in the late 80s when I was a kid. It was an international flight, so I guess it would have been too difficult to deplane a couple of hundred people to process them back to where they came from in the days before computers were everywhere.

RedCyclone

I know it doesn't help but, the thought of you pile driving an attendant on the broken luggage makes me smile, safe travels 🧟💚

Rob Whaley

Exactly! It's insane. And the worst part is the chance that your luggage ends up getting sent to one of those "Lost Luggage" stores, and getting bought by someone else. That's a fear of mine. How do airlines let that happen?

John Clauser

I had a problem with Delta once and I was on the plane about to take off and then they called the plane back. Flight was canceled. I had to figure out how to get to where I was supposed to go and the best that could be done was 8 hours later. Thankfully I had just gotten an iPod and that kept me company but 8 hours at the Atlanta airport was not a good experience.
