The fact that Qual was able to suddenly use the current defensive magic, very shortly upon just hearing about it, is nuts scary. Good thing he was taken out!!! While battles aren't the main focus, exactly, of the story, they're totally animated 120% PLUS ULTRA hahahaha! The OST for the whole series still just... hits different, too. <3

I love that there's a technology-magic parallel being made here. Zoltraak and the Defense spell that developed as a result of it, becoming the most foundational spells in the science of magic 80 years later. Also props to Qual for being so smart and figuring out the weakness of the defense spell after just seeing it once. It's a shame he was evil.
