Also, the change in animation style for episode 16 is due to the person who directed this episode, Itsuki Tshuchigami! They're very well known for their kagenashi-style, less shading and more manga accurate designs. Episode 16 was able to be given more time, whereas episode 17 wasn't, but the animators were still able to produce masterpieces, so we need to appreciate their hard work

Its a good thing Hanami was at the exchange event instead of Jogo because things would've ended differently. lol

Yay! Wild ride is here hahaha~ Glad you enjoyed! I'll hop on the other one soon, watching your discussion now. Btw, just wondering, did you find out that Kusakabe's VA is also Urahara? :3 Also, yeah it was touching and sad when Toji realized who he was fighting, then offing himself so he didn't murder his own child. Megumi not knowing anything about that too, was also depressing. Your face matched your shirt a few times! ^_^;

2024-06-19 03:35:15 About the subtitles: Yes they are different, and a few lines don't hit exactly the same but the vast majority of them are better translated than crunchyroll's subtitles. There's also subtitles in the opening and ending, and the visual fidelity is far higher than the version Flexie was using before this (you won't notice it watching on Patreon though, probably only Flexie will be able to see it)

Idk if it's because the blu-ray version, if I'm more attached to these characters after rewatching/rereading numerous times, or what. But, Toji finding out the person he is fighting is Megumi got me teary eyed this time. To me, I see it as when Toji stepped on the rabbit and he sunk into the shadow a bit, he realized that the only person with that technique would be a Zenin and possibly his son. Once he finds out his name is Fushiguro, it must have been a proud father moment knowing that (1) Megumi doesn't claim being a Zenin and (2) His son has the crown jewel technique of the Zenin therefore making him incredibly powerful. In order to not cause his son anymore trouble, he decides to cut his return short. Not the most conventional way to show your son love, but nonetheless it's still a powerful display of love from a father [who thought he didn't care about anything in the world anymore and is just trying to make it] for his son <3
