This is a solid two part story. Written by the guest writer Steven Moffat, who's work you'll probably be familiar with. He also wrote Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman's Sherlock series. Steven guest writes for the show a few times and his stories are some of the most popular episodes in the early part of the show.

These two episodes scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. It was so unsettling. Now I can appreciate the episodes more for being good episodes. They worked the horror elements in really well and its great for Doctor Who to be creepy and scary every now and then.
