This is one of the episodes that I’ve anticipated from the start of your reactions. Ian and Mickeys story is the best part of this show, there’s no question about it. I do love how they even introduced Ian being bipolar, it actually had build up and it was in the background, a lot of viewers assumed it was drugs which was probably the intention. This episode it will either click in your head what’s happening or when they tell us it’s answers every question you had about Ian for the last season. They did a great job with this whole storyline, you’ve obviously only seen the beginning but even that in my opinion was perfect. While I agree with you that the frank scenes are basically pointless if he doesn’t change, I still really like some of them in like a symbolic way outside of the show, if that even makes sense. I feel like frank is the one fully constant thing in the show and I don’t feel like they were comfortable changing that.
