A bit more of a sacred scroll refresher. The story goes that 13 tribes set out on spaceships or 'caravans of the gods' from Kobol like 2000 years ago (tho Pythea was written 3500 years ago) - 12 of them formed the 12 colonies and established a civilization, and a supposed 13th tribe set out to some mythical place called Earth. 12 colonies are: Aerilon Aquaria Canceron Caprica Gemenon Leonis Libran Picon Sagittaron Scorpia Tauron Virgon

Also the lady she was talking to was the priestess of Colonial One, who swore her in as president in the mini-series, and has done all the funerals and such so far.
