It looks like everyone has filled you in on the symbolism in this episode. It really is packed full of it. Also, the blue cross in the church is from the Romeo and Juliet movie. He basically remembers all the times Even said something about death, and then that manic phases are followed by depression. And the text he got from Even reads like a suicide note. A lot of saying goodbye, and talking about losing people. That final scene also won awards in Norway. Also, I love the Magnus scene, because he is just so matter of fact about it. From Isak's point of view, I think he really did kind of believe the whole "life is better without mentally ill people in it" thing. H doesn't know much about bipolar disorder, and just assumes that Even's feelings are a product of that, and was probably too hurt to think deeper into it. I also don't think Sonja was lying though. They'd been together for so long, she probably was just trying to protect him. She just went about it the wrong way. And about his parents, from what I've gathered the dad left when he couldn't handle the mom's mental illness, and then Isak couldn't just stay with his mom. So it's not so much that they don't care about eachother, the just couldn't manage living together. But that's gotta hurt Isak's trust in them, so he has a hard time confiding in them, plus he's got this huge secret that he's been dealing with. Another point is that we don't actually see any adults in this series. Other than the nurse, the only other one is the teacher, and we never see her face. There's probably some symbolism in that, I just don't know what it is. Great reaction!

Loved this! An interesting detail (there are so many we can’t mention them all) is that the singer in the church is Nils Bech. He sang the song from the trailer and also the one that plays at the end of episode 2 when Isak first meets Sonja. Both songs have a lot of deeper meeting in relation to this season. Even’s name (Even Bech Næsheim) comes from Nil Bech and his partner, whose last name is Næsheim. Sorry, can’t remember his first name, but he was the show runner for a series called Blank that came out after Skam and uses a similar format. Personally I think that’s more worth watching once you are done with Skam rather than the remakes, but I’m probably in the minority on that. Anyway, great job as always. I have really been enjoying your reactions, so thanks!
