I completely disagree that Walt is more levelheaded than Gus. Walt is really smart but he is impulsive as hell, this episode showed that. If anything, the fact that Walt and Jesse are even still alive shows Gus's self-control. As angry as he was, he knew that killing one of them would put himself in a worse position. Meanwhile Walt has let his emotions rule him on several occasions.
