Yeah, the whole Tsubasa family situation is pretty screwed up but I think they did a good job with her father situation overall, especially in contrast to what we've gotten of Hibiki's dad so far. He's not a great father and obviously could have done it a better way but they do a good job having some details show he does actually care about her and was attempting to push her away from the Kazanari family so she could be her own person and follow her own dreams.
