Just played through the latest dungeon. I mostly enjoyed it, except the final boss. I will complain quite a bit about it, just know that I still enjoy the game and will follow all releases of it. Right. The boss. It was infuriating. Their ability to Rage, Blind and confuse made for an extremely annoying fight. Even worse when the two adds started charming my members, too. Most of my attempts ended with the party raging, confused and/or charmed, which turned the combat to full auto. When that happened, I had no choice but to wait and hope that the MC survived until I could gain control of my party again. When I did, I tried to push back the boss' turn (unless the adds had shown up) or using a healing item on MC before she succumbed to the next wave of rage and whatnot. The auto-combat wasn't all that easy to parse, but it seemed that most of the time my MC died to confusion/charm, and attacking herself or something. Her health dropped by like 300 in a single round of attacks. And that was after I had gone highly defensive with my chips. My final build, which I beat the boss with, was Knockback, Grass Blade, Ink Spread, Shriek and Nipple Twist, and both characters was at level 9. I'm not saying you shouldn't have bosses use status effects. Just that the combination of rage and the threat system is unfortunate. As soon as MC gets aggro, she keeps it unless I spend multiple turns spamming "Hey, over Here!". A side effect of the threat system, even in normal fights, is that it is better for Robin to spend her time healing up MC with items than to regain aggro or damage. She just doesn't deal any damage at all, even against enemies that are weak to her green element.

Its a very RNG dependent battle. But I want to keep it this way since that's how the Author works. What I can do is to lower the MP, so that you can start the fighting earlier. With the side objective of surviving until the "ink runs out"

RNG is fine, but player agency is essential for a good experience. I think I understand the general idea behind the battle. If I may suggest a change to alleviate it somewhat: remove the adds' ability to charm. The rage/confusion is annoying, while the charm practically auto-loses the fight if it happens on the MC. If you want to keep up the theme of status effect, give the adds confusion as well. Sure, there'll be even more confusion, but at least it doesn't stack. Alternatively, just give them some regular not-too-deadly attacks. Or a -ATK status effect or something.
