I don't think the financial columnist's story really happened. Her narrative just doesn't add up, and I think she made it up. Probably just to go viral, but maybe to cover up where the $50k actually went (like compulsive spending).

I think people are missing the point of this is it being satire and we all know that communications on social media apps or dating apps are controlled, so they can thwart scams if they want to, but the people running the apps are the same ones doing the scamming. it's never going to end when the patients run the asylum. they can also make you change your thought process to fall victim to the scam anyways, so don't take anything personal and also don't blame yourself or significant other for when you get cheated on also because it probably wasn't their thoughts to even get with you to begin with.
