do the flying podcast, but also I think the thing is that every single thing, everywhere, across the board (at least in the US? and Canada? and the UK?) is getting the same squeeze treatment where both the workers and customers hate everything about what's going on, their personal experience, etc etc, but it doesn't matter because there's layers of fancy automation and Process and bullshit between the real profit-takers and everyone else. think of uber, for example, or food delivery, or food making, etc. anything that's truly corporate. and there's no Artisanal Airline for them to have to compete with so we just get pure shit.

The air travel industry is terrible for the same reason as so many other sectors of the American economy and it's simply because of monopoly capitalism and lack of regulations/democracy.

Spirit is an airline completely designed by management consultants to just squeeze as much as much cash as possible out of the supply chain. They pick routes that no one else carries creating a quasi-monopolistic dynamic so can get away with basically shitting on their customers
