can u guys consider taking about that streamer who got caught looking at deepfakes of other streamers (including the woman who baked his wedding cake) live on stream? Idk if there’s enough there to do an episode but it’s sooooo bizarre and pathetic and idk… ai deepfakes seem dystopian enough to make it on the pod assuming there’s enough to talk about. i admit im a bit biased bc the guy who did it was at one point the best speedrunner in the world for my favorite game lol

I think the differences between american police depts are defined by regions and history rather than states, so police in Chicago have a different culture from Georgian ones, and those ones have more in common with Kentucky cops than california cops etc. Midwest cops have their roots in the south just because of all the ex-confederates who infested that region after the civil war. oh yeah, just saw that NY threw out a case due to 'prosecutor misconduct', because they failed to turn over evidence for 3 cases, so this cop who had like, 350 fucking convictions thrown out now gets his own case thrown out, and I have to think the police union was doing shifty things there. But yeah, there is a long and proud history going back at least to the spanish american war/Moro insurgency of soldiers fighting guerrillas and then coming back to the States to practice what they learned on political activists. Probably goes back longer.

From what I've heard from interviews with former cops, the culture in all American big city police departments is identical, or close enough. I think the differences really just come down to how much class or race oppression your local police force is obliged to enforce.

Deepfakes already have and will be a new deep and dark age for slander, false incrimination ,and ,most of all pornography. You can now create convincing voice profiles for famous politicians. I genuinely believe that you will have Tucker Carlson making commentary over some Obama deepfake claiming that he is a true communist and they are taking over and we need to act now. I read some of James Mason's Siege and there are scary similarities that are already happening. I fear that they will openly call for a new age of pinkertons to murder genuine workers movements enmass. I genuinely wish those who are serious about bringing about even the most milktoast forms of socialism are armed and ready to fight back. I wish you all good luck; you are the unsung heroes of the movement away from late stage capitalism.

I work for one of the subcontractors. I would really like to get some kind of letter going around to appeal to the company to bail on the contract but don’t know how to find anyone who shares that view in the opaque national corporate network. Any tips?

The Atlanta Way stems from the peace that was kept during the civil rights era by white political/corporate leadership working with black movement leaders and continues to this day in concessions made to corporate leaders as much of the wealthier populations live outside city limits in the large metro area but have corporate headquarters in the city
