Make another pod with the Red Scare ladies!

Corona is simply Phase 2 of China’s new found soft power. First Tik Tok, and now this?

Jason Matthews

I didn't think my "question" was *that* stupid. Come on, Mack.

My favorite thing is when Brace talks about reading a book about the Bonapartes but doesn’t give the name of the book or it’s authors.

Liz, Don't carry water for Bernie. He bumbled another opportunity. Revolution time!

Isaac Howard

Love y'all. Thanks.

I appreciated this art discussion much! Art museums are owned by crazy ass MIC guys. it would be awesome for the elite art system to collapse. like warren kanders with the whitney museum making tear gas canisters fired by IDF i believe, MOMA investments in private prisons, and david geffen owns the MOCA in little tokyo in LA. I have this fantasy of the potential in this moment for us to get a rent/mortgage freeze, and a decent UBI for us to survive on for the pandemic that allows people to make and buy art and craftwork from each other VIA the internet. it's possible ??? kind of ehhhh...

James

The reason all the celebs are pretending to have Covid19 is because they are actually having adrenochrome withdrawals.

kLindberg

Yung Chomsky really is the Silent Bob of the podcast.

Michael Hollitscher

What if you do adrenochrome and become pro-Epstein?

Glad someone is pointing out the lack of an actual proletariat presence in the mainstream art community. I work around a number of professors, artists, and art students who seem to wear the titles of “socialist,” “lefty,” and “liberal” interchangeably as a flashy aesthetic while holding the utmost disdain for people who are genuinely working class. It’s no coincidence these people are typically linked to some kind of wealth. We had a seminar two years ago where two local artists (both dressed about as bourgeois as you could get) discussed their mentoring project with minority youth. An acquaintance asked what became of each of their pupils and neither of these assholes could give a coherent answer. We have too many Dalí’s and not enough Breton’s. Too many clout chasers and far too few authentic artists genuinely working toward any form of progressive change. Hopefully this will be in decline after quarantine. I’ve seen a number of colleagues—mostly young—who like myself have been in factories, worked on construction sites, and have slaved away in the service industry gradually finding some ground in the art world, though we still have a large mountain of meritocratic nonsense and pretentious assholes to climb over.

Love having Chomsky on, his bit on Solitude vs Isolation was really cool!

L

Liz can you do just like an episode where you explain to all of us jus like ~markets~ at the degree of detail as if youre explaining it all a-z to brace. Like describing the technical jargon but then also being like 'basically this is what it is'.

spectacular commodity

I don’t know if this helps but, Edward Abbey’s book *Desert Solitaire* is a great reflection on solitude and isolation.

James

You know that episode of tiger king where they talk about Joe placing his business under all these different names and creating like a hard to track web? That’s basically it. The jargon is just so beta business school bitches can feel smart.

LANCE UPPERCUT

Shit questions. Weak episode

Don Woodruff

Speaking on the “when will live music exist again” question, As someone who works in the music industry, don’t expect to see another show until the fall if not last year. Even if society gets through this if we fall into a depression people will not have money for concert tickets or merchandise. A majority of touring has been moved into 2021 or will be soon. Massive amounts of venues including arenas and stadiums that hold sporting events are subject to priority holds on sporting events before concerts are even spoken about and at that point, we now have an entire year of tours being consolidated and bidding for a single season. We’re doomed.

Don Woodruff

Also, the trauma scenario is real. Everyone will see drops in attendance.

jommunist

Young Chomsky has great fuckin taste in hardware synths

Hans Schwitzerworst

This episode is 9 seconds too long. It's totally messing with my OCD lol

I had to look up what an anime body pillow was. I’m not happy that I did.

Checking in from 2022. Will it be a year??? Oof.
