Re the amtrak point. When nc was a swing state our governor got amtrak to build a rail line between raleigh and charlotte. Runs 5x a day and is only 15-25 bucks. But now that the state is red nothing is being done

Liz I totally agree with you on the state of public transit. Chicago’s CTA service has been terrible since the pandemic and we have a bunch of people who have no transportation experience running the CTA. They refuse to take accountability for the horrible service and for some reason Mayor Johnson is appointing pastors to leadership instead of taking any initiative to fix the system.

That doesn't make trains bad though. If the country's conscience as a whole cared more about trains, we'd have better funded and more comprehensive public rail networks. The only reason we're pretending it can't be done, is because we're uncultured swine who never leave the states. Europe and Asia both have swathes of high quality rail services at affordable price points for commuters.

Man, great subject. I went to one of these October 7th events that they held at Bel Air Church in Los Angeles to find out what kind of stuff they were saying... It's unreal that churches in the west are promoting this crap. Of course that was the Church of Ronald Reagan so I guess what would one expect? If you ever have the opportunity, hezbollah has a museum in Lebanon. Museum wise it’s actually quite good. There’s exhibitions but you can also tour through an underground base and quite a lovely forest with foxholes etc. There’s a giftshop and cafetaria etc and for some reason they are very keen on waste separation and recycling. There are garbage stations all over the premises and explanations about hezbollahs commitment to nature? Anyway, walked out of there with a nazrallah lighter and hezbollah pen and T-shirt and would 10/10 recommend everyone to visit

all my housemates through my three years of undergrad were big psytrance guys so I'm very familiar with the subculture. it's essentially a particular kind of "trippy" trance exclusively for people who spend all their time doing shrooms or trying out different research chemicals. people who are heavy into crypto and body modification and stuff. think like burning man types, hippy musk fanboys, lot of white dreads. kind of like phish fans who migrated to electronic dance music. truly awful stuff and makes a lot of sense that it'd find a home in israel
