Also, what about this - what if you start with a really basic black & white sketch and each progressively becomes more "finished" until the last one is the colored image?

I also like them both for separate reasons Dx but I'll have to vote for the sketchy one too. It has a more mystical feel to it that I just really like, not that the other one isn't good in its own right! Awooo :3

Both are amazing. The finished one looks more professional but the sketch has a more artistic vibe. Really I think you should go with whichever one you like best.
