TLDR:   If maps come later, I'm not ded, just a little afk / recharging for new projects ~

- I´m here for the long run
"While many look for their 15min of fame, I strive for consistency, being here for you, today, tomorrow, and hopefully even longer."

Hi there, map releases had been a bit slow recently, of course, I have a deep drive to create the greatest and most fun maps for you and your friends, but I must say, grinding that long (almost 2 years, 6-7/week  5-10h+/day ) takes huge effort and I´ve seen many crumble and give up on the way.

Sooo why fewer maps recently?

Reason 1 - Preventive action

- Taking a step back, and trying to not burn out myself nor to get dissatisfied.
"I'm really aware of the issue of burnout, as I have made experiences with that myself as well as seeing it regularly in the Minecraft scene, and therefore I'm hyper-aware of this.

- What its like: Hours/days of isolation can be daunting and grinding
"It's silent, no chat messages, solo on an endless creative world with thousands of objects..., no second opinions, or another one that creates or improves my work.. while I'm hopping from worldpainter or worldmachine back to minecraft and in between,  its only me for hours and days, while music and birds are chirping silently in the background"

Reason 2 - Programm Updates that can break workflows

- Programm updates can create issues and bugs
"E.g.  I have arguably one of the most complex worldpainter worlds around the scene, and therefore find regularly bugs that cause plenty of issues I try to sort out either in the world or as reporting to the dev"

Reason 3 - Project endurance and growth

- Trying to improve every new map I make becomes harder every time
"There are thousands of ways of approaching anything. Recreating is easy, but finding and creating new concepts/ideas and improvements while staying within self-set-rules can be hard and takes time to generate, as well as the chance of inspirations and ideas outside of my bubble to reach me"

- I´m here for the long run
"While many look for their 15min of fame, I strive for consistency, being here for you today, tomorrow, and hopefully even longer."

Reason 4 - The complexity went  STONKS

- WorldMachine is now at about 1400 nodes/functions that create these worlds
"Earlier this year I took like 4 weeks off of any project.. it took me multiple days to get back into my own node tree and into the flow, as well as understanding what it does. Small changes can have massive consequences, or even throw the whole project sideways

While it would be possible just to rearrange everything and just make the same map in a new style, it would also totally dissatisfy me and block my desire for 'project improvement'. Otherwise the maps would never have got beyond  4+ basic biomes or gotten these insane complex cave systems, i want the next map to be better as the previous "

Reason 5 - McSTRONKS

- Training, cycling and putting hours in to get fit and race again

"Im currently putting dozens of hours into sports again, trying to recover of 5 years *of sitting* and *rusting*, so I can be healthy again. Finally being able to do some beloved sports again, all thanks to you peeps, and therefore my biggest *thank you´s* "

Overall
I love what I'm doing, I'm looking into expanding into different categories, styles, and branches and have many more ideas, I'm looking forward, creating many more worlds, just without overwhelming myself lol
