Christmas Tree (Patreon)

Dani loves Christmas, he wanted to make the tree look special this year. So while Alex was in his office, busy with work. Dani happily put the tree up and proceeded to decorate it. It was a plastic fiberoptic tree that Alex had in his loft for years, it was a little tatty, but did the job.
Fully set up the tree glowed nicely, all be ait a little dim. So Dani was a little unimpressed with it, but he then had the idea of making it brighter by fitting a more powerful bulb to its base. So as the snow fell he scurried out to the workshop to try and find one. Alex's workshop was a treasure trove of old tools and parts. Eventually, he found a large old halogen bulb. "200 watts? huh, that should be nice and bright" He happily said to himself then skipped back to the house.
With the new bulb fitted Dani turned it on and stood back. The tree glowed brightly and was beautiful to look it. As he stood back admiring it Alex walked in, surprised to see that Dani had actually managed to set the tree up without him.
However as he stood next to Dani he noticed an odd burning smell. His eyebrow then raised as the tree began to warp and sag.. Smoke began pouring from the base as the plastic started melting from the heat of the overly powerful bulb. Dani quickly yanked the plug out as the tree toppled over, revealing a large black scorch mark on the carpet.
The tree was destroyed, its base completely melting into a glittery red and green splat. Dani in a sad voice said. "Dammit.. now we don't have a tree"..
Alex though, who had just picked up the box from the 200w bulb, and realising why the tree had melted, just looked back at Dani a little annoyed and said. "Don't worry Dani, I have an idea"...

So yeah, Dani became the Christmas tree!
Also lucky for him his present from Alex this year isn't too heavy. And yes that is a candy cane sound :3
